WHAT TO DO

Paddling with Third Coast Paddling; The Rolling Rack from Lana's Boutiques

Start your weekend off with an adventure at Third Coast Paddling! Their Paw Paw River kayak and stand up paddleboard rentals open for the season this weekend, both Saturday and Sunday. It’s an awesome season for a paddle, with the greenery waking up and the bugs at their low point.

For the crafty mom, check out the Sandpaper Social at Watermark Brewing on Saturday, May 13th! There’s lots of stencil choices, and the $35 ticket gets you an awesome sign as well as a beer of your choice.

While you’re in Stevensville on Saturday, you can also find “The Rolling Rack”, Lana’s Boutique’s mobile fashion camper! They will be at the downtown Stevensville market from 10:00am-6:00pm. Mom can explore all sorts of local vendors!

Lots of moms choose wine…if that sounds like yours, check out Dablon Winery’s Mother’s Day events. They have special gifts for mom and live music by Mike Talbot from 2:30-5:30pm.

WHERE TO SHOP

Art from Marty McKiernan at Chartreuse ; merchandise at Moxie's Boutique

If Mom loved her paddle on the Paw Paw, the Third Coast Paddling retail location in the Benton Harbor Arts district! You can find kayaks, SUPs, and the experts to help at the specialty store (with a Mother's Day Sale to boot). Their hours are expanding this weekend, too, so you’ll have plenty of opportunity to shop.

True, Mom may look great in those jeans. We’d encourage you to check out Moxie’s MOTHERS DAY YOUR WAY sale, running through May 13th, for some *possibly* better options.  When you purchase a gift for mom (merchandise or gift certificate), Moxie’s will throw in a bonus gift certificate. That way, she’ll get to shop a little for herself, too!

Bound For Freedom wants to celebrate yo momma, too. Check out their offer for 20% off

For more unique gift options, check out Chartreuse! Here’s what the artists themsevles have to say-

“Chartreuse has a wonderful selection of gifts for Mother’s Day. We are an artist-owned and operated art gallery in downtown St. Joseph, offering art by more than 20 local artists who are experts at their craft. You’ll find beautiful jewelry, photography, ceramics, glass, watercolors, wood and textiles. She would especially love to hang her family photos and Mother’s Day cards from a reclaimed wood panel that comes complete with clips. We also have large selection of   original paintings, prints and cards featuring Michigan flowers and birds.  Many items in the store reflect the beauty of our area and the influence of Lake Michigan.”
