Lake Michigan Vintners
9872 1st Street, Baroda, MI (directions)
In collaboration with Lake Michigan College (Benton Harbor, MI.), Lake Michigan Vintners is home to the first and only commercial teaching winery and tasting room.
At our Baroda tasting room, we will be selling small batch, handcrafted wines produced by the students of Lake Michigan College’s Wine & Viticulture Technology program. Using fruit solely from the Lake Michigan Shore AVA (American Viticulture Area), we have purchased fruit from local growers such as Herman Vineyards in Coloma, MI, Gravity Fruit Farm in Baroda, MI, as well as Lemon Creek Fruit Farm in Berrien Springs, MI.
Under the mentorship of renowned winemaker & program director Michael Moyer, as well as vineyard & winery manager, Michael deSchaaf students have crafted artisanal wines including Pinot Gris, Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Seyval Blanc, Rose’ & a red blend aged in French oak.
Through the Baroda tasting room outlet, we are proud to promote the Lake Michigan Shore wine region, as well as help perpetuate the growth & development of the Michigan wine industry.
The winery is located at Lake Michigan College - 2755 E. Napier Ave. Benton Harbor, MI 49022.
