Run like the snakes of Ireland are chasing you at the SWMI RACER’S 2nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day 5k Run/Walk! Held in downtown Coloma, this family friendly race is a fundraiser for the Leader Dogs for the Blind, so your canine friends can run too. Wearing green is encouraged, of course!
Keep wearing your green for family fun at the Silver Beach Carousel on Thursday, March 16th for the "Wearin' of the Green" Family Fun Night. Kicking off St. Patty’s Day weekend, rides from 4:00-8:30pm are free to those wearing green!
Friday, March 17th is the big day! New Territory Arts Association is hosting their spring Art Hop on Friday, offering the chance to explore local arts with a green and springtime flair. This free, family-friendly event happens in the Benton Harbor Arts District, kicking off at 6:00pm. If you’re still in the area around 8:30, you can check out the Rain Dogs at Babe’s Lounge and Restaurant on Friday night (this one is 21+!). The Rain Dogs played at our 2nd Annual St. Joe Winter Beer Fest, and their rockin’ gothabilly sounds make for an awesome party. This is an annual tradition at Babe’s, and you don’t want to miss out!
Our local breweries are celebrating, too, with Irish food and special beer release at Silver Harbor Brewing and an awesome band at Watermark Brewing Company. Downtown Stevensville will be alive with the sounds of WYSIWYG, made even better by Watermark’s unique brews.
Also in Stevensville, Coach’s Bar and Grill celebrates with their “St. Patrick’s Day Madness Bash”, a fundraiser for the Lakeshore Excellence Foundation! Proceeds raised will be matched by Bid Distributing, so that green Bud Light on tap is definitely worth it. The party goes Friday, March 17th through Saturday, March 18th.
In fact, Southwest Michigan is still celebrating on Saturday! North Pier Brewing Company is hosting the first “unofficial” St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl. Starting at their Benton Harbor brewery with pints and a buffet by the North Shore Inn, the course continues with stops at the Livery Microbrewery and the Chatterbox. Tickets are available here; you’ll want to tell your grandkids you were at the inaugural event!
