Trick-or-Treating happens in the Benton Harbor Arts District on Tuesday, October 31st from 4:30-6:00pm! There's treats from local stores and organizations, as well as a performance by the Benton Harbor Marching Band.

You can also Trick-or-Treat in downtown St. Joseph on Tuesday, October 31st from 4:30-6:00pm! Our downtown merchants offer candy before city-wide Trick-Or-Treating. 


Beyond the big day, here's family fun, spooky theater and tours, fun for grownups, and some unique Halloween treats! 




Benton Harbor Library is hosting literary fun for kids and families with their “Winifred Witch” Family Day on Saturday, October 14th from 11:00am-12:30pm! Local author Cheri L. Hallwood hosts a reading, followed by creepy crafts with Krasl Art Center staff.  

Four-legged friends don’t have to miss out on seasonal fun when head over HOWL-O-Ween at Fernwood Botanical Garden! Join them on October 21st for guided hikes, a costume contest, and shopping from local vendors.

Something wicked is coming at Sarett Nature Center! On October 28th from 6:30-8:30pm, families can walk the lighted trail, discovering wild creatures and fun activities. Bring a flashlight! There is a dark trail for the adventurous Halloween ethusiasts; there’s also snacks and crafts indoors. It’s $5 per person. Please call (269)-927-4832 to register.

Super Saturdays (free with admission or membership) are still going at the Curious Kids’ Museum! Visit on October 7th for “Let’s Go Batty”, and October 21st for “Ghost Ships”.

For more Family Fun nights, head over to the Silver Beach Carousel as they host multiple nights of spinning spooky fun. Rides are just $1 on Thursday nights! Be sure to check out "Okotberfest" on October 5th (free root beer!), "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!" on October 12th, and "Haunted Scareousel" on October 26th (featuring magic tricks by John Dudley). 

The train rides at Eden Springs Park at House of David are always awesome, and even better with a spooktacular makeover for Halloween! For just $3 per ride, you can explore the decorated grounds on a historic miniature train. Rides are available October 14th and 15th, 21st and 22nd, and 28th and 29th. They’ll run on Saturdays from 5:00-9:00pm, and Sundays from 4:00-8:00pm. 




For historic Halloween fun, the Heritage Museum is hosting haunted walking tours of downtown St. Joseph and the city cemetery! Once you walk the streets of St. Joseph with the tour guides, hearing tales of ghostly sightings and unexplainable sounds, you’ll never look at State Street the same way again. Saturday, October 7th is the cemetery tour and Sunday, October 22nd is the haunted downtown tour; space is extremely limited in both, so make sure to call the Heritage Museum at (269) 983-1191 to reserve your spot!

Help hunt for ghosts at the Eden Springs Park at House of David. This is no haunted house attraction, but an actual ghost hunt. Join the Capital Area Paranormal Research Society LLC and the South East Capital Area Paranormal Research Society on October 28th. Tickets are limited to 40 participants, so call (269)-927-3302 to reserve your spot.

There’s awesome and seasonally spooky live theater coming to Michigan’s Great Southwest, too! Twin City Players is performing Douglas Post’s Murder in Green Meadows on October 27th-29th, November 3rd -5th and 10th-12th. Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Sundays at 2pm. Bust out some moves at the Journeyman Distillery Halloween Dance Party on October 27th. From 8-11pm there will be Halloween inspired drinks, a DJ, costume contest and even prizes.

For more wine fun, head over to Round Barn for the HalloWine Party! Featuring cocktails like Witch’s Brew (along with your other Round Barn favorites), this fantastically fun bash includes live music with the Rebecca Anne Band and costumes. Festivities are Saturday, October 28th from 1:00-7:00pm!

Head over to North Pier Brewing for Howl-O-Ween! On Sunday, October 29th from 2:30-5:30pm, the kid-friendly “dogtoberfest” celebration will host a costume contest for dogs, live music, a photo booth, awesome beer, and dog walkers for $1. It’s $10 per person or $20 per family to enter, and proceeds benefit Healing Paws Therapy Dogs.

'Tis the season of pumpkin spice...and you can get your fill at lots of different downtown destinations! Biggby Coffee is offering up seasonal lattes, perfect for sipping on a spooky stroll.
