Need a summer boredom buster for you family before the back-to-school crunch begins? Head to St. Joseph August 3-5 for the 22nd Annual Chalk the Block.
Friday, August 3rd
Kick off the weekend with a little Southwest Michigan history! The Heritage Museum & Cultural Center is offering Lighthouse Tours of the famous St. Joseph lighthouse! You can catch the tours from 11:00am-2:00pm (a guided walking tour beings at 10:00am) on both Friday and Saturday. The first floor of the lighthouse hosts a free exhibit, and it's just $5 to climb to the top. Tours are weather-dependent; check out their Facebook page for more information.
Friday evening, meet Polly & Dolly the rescue horses that pull our horse-drawn trolley! Stop by this unique meet and greet from 5:00-8:00pm on the corner of Elm & State Streets. They love taking photos so make sure to bring your camera! This activity is weather permitting; please check in with us!

Visit North Pier Brewing on Friday (or anytime through the weekend) and try "Chalk the Beer" the official brew of Chalk the Block! It's a special brew created by Steve Distachio, lead brewer, to celebrate the upcoming Chalk the Block in downtown St. Joseph. It's a peach and pineapple wheat beer that tastes like summer.

Saturday, August 4th
Artists begin working on their creations early Saturday morning - watch as they transform Broad Street with their chalk masterpieces! Visit stjoetoday.com/chalktheblock to meet the 2018 artists.

There's more than an awesome view on the bluff - you can also visit the St. Joe Farmers Market in Lake Bluff Park from 9:00am-2:00pm! Our Saturday market includes jams, honey, hearth-baked breads and fine pastries, perennials, produce, dairy and much more. Held weekly on Saturdays through October 13.
The Y-Country Summer Jam returns to the Shadowland Pavilion on Saturday at 4:00pm and features William Michael Morgan, Tucker Beathard, and Kari Holmes! Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 day of. For more information and to purchase tickets visit summerjam.com.
Finish out your Saturday with a move in Whirlpool Centennial Park! The City of St. Joseph hosts "Hugo" - bring a blanket or chairs (take out from Silver Beach Pizza next door is always a plus!) and enjoy the free flick under the stars. It begins around 10:00pm!

Take a stroll through Antiques on the Bluff in Lake Bluff Park from 10:00am-5:00pm. This antique show is a premier event for St. Joseph and antiquers around Southwest Michigan.
