Head to Southwest Michigan over Labor Day Weekend to soak up the last bit of the summer! Read on for the full guide to help make sure you enjoy every last minute!

 

THURSDAY, AUGUST 29TH

Kick off the weekend with a trip to the Whirlpool Centennial Fountain, located just below the bluff. You can cool off in the jets and count down for the big blast of overhead water cannons! Great for all ages, the fountain is open from 10:00am-9:00pm (through Labor Day). While you're down there, take a spin on The Silver Beach Carousel right across the street!

Soak up the last few days of summer with Scooter Joe's Wheel & Water Rentals! They offer a variety of rentals throughout the summer. Everything from surrey bikes and beach cruisers to kayaks, golf cart lsv's and more!

Bistro on the Boulevard invites you to enjoy Bare Bone Bistro Music featuring St. Joe Jack from 6:00-9:00pm. Diners can also enjoy select $5 martinis during Martini Madness from 5:00pm-close on Thursdays, now through December.

INSIDER TIP: On Wednesdays head over to the Bistro on the Boulevard to
enjoy their weekly Flight Night Drink & Nosh Pairings starting at 5:00pm!

Join The GhostLight for their latest performance, Urinetown. Based in the not so distant future, a terrible water shortage and 20 year drought has led to a government ban on private restrooms. Catch the last weekend of this satirical musical comedy Thursday-Saturday at 8:00pm and Sunday at 2:00pm.

Head over to Coach's Bar & Grill for Thirsty Thursday from 5:00-7:00pm. Enjoy awesome specials as 97.5 Y-Country hosts a live broadcast.

 

FRIDAY, AUGUST 30TH

Enjoy Lighthouse Tours and open hours this weekend at the St. Joe Lighthouse provided by The Heritage Museum & Cultural Center! Public Tours are available Friday and Saturday at 10:00am. No reservations required - $10/adult and $5/child (includes tower climb). Open hours this weekend, weather permitting: Friday and Saturday 10:00am-2:00pm and Sunday 8:00-10:00am (special Tri-State Regatta hours) and Noon-4:00pm. The first floor exhibit is free and it's just $5 for the tower climb.

Celebrate Wanderlust Outfitters' third anniversary all weekend long during Wanderversary! Enjoy giveaways, onsite food trucks, specials and more. Kids will enjoy a special visit from some of the critters from Sarett Nature Center and facepainting - Saturday only form 11:00am-2:00pm!

St. Joseph Today and The Boulevard Inn & Bistro wrap up the Friday Night Concert Series this weekend with a final concert featuring Blue Shoes Jazz. This hour long concert is held at the John E.N. Howard Bandshell in downtown St. Joseph form 7:30-8:30pm. However, there's more music with a side of Michigan wine and craft beer Friday night at -

SATURDAY, AUGUST 31ST

Continue the weekend fun with a trip to the weekly St. Joe Farmers Market, Saturdays through October 12 from 9:00am-2:00pm in Lake Bluff Park. Saturday morning at the Market now includes jams, honey, hearth-baked breads and fine pastries, perennials, cut flowers, organic vegetables and so much more!

Join Watermark Brewing as they host Yoga on Tap on the Patio! from 10:00am-Noon. Enjoy an energizing yoga class on the patio and then socializing in the taproom. All levels welcome. 

The Lake Bluff Artisan Faire returns to downtown St. Joseph in Lake Bluff Park from 10:00am-5:00pm. Regional artisans and crafters will showcase their talent on Lake Bluff Park. Event attendees will find unique one-of-a-kind handcrafted, homemade goods such as home décor, furniture, jewelry, candles, clothing and more.

Head over to the Round Barn Estate as they raise a glass to all workers during their Fruits of Labor event! Enjoy live music, food and drinks all weekend long. Hours include Saturday 11:00am-7:00pm and Sunday 11:00am-6:00pm.

The Tri-State Regatta is in town this weekend and the St. Joseph River Yacht Club invites the public to celebrate this annual event. Enjoy a day full of food, drinks, dockside camaraderie and live music!

State Street Stuff will host a 2-hour live performance by Elvis from 6:00-8:00pm. It's the last performance of the summer so make sure you swing by!

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST

Antiques on the Bluff returns to Lake Bluff Park in downtown St. Joseph this Sunday from 10:00am-5:00pm. Something old is new to you at the monthly treasure hunt. This event features over 50 vendors and runs the first Sunday of the month through October!

Enjoy a Meet & Greet with our 2019 Horse-Drawn Trolley team from 11:00am-2:00pm! Meet Jimmy & Chester our 2019 trolley team and learn more from about the history of the trolley rides with Kevin Kniebes of Kniebes Centennial Farm. Sponsored the Frederick S. Upton Foundation.

Join North Pier Brewing as they invite local restaurant friends to create their favorite slider recipes for the 1st Annual Burger Bash! This event is free to enter and food tickets will be available for purchase. 

INSIDER TIP: North Pier Brewing will also host a Cornhole Tournament
that day! $25 entry per team, includes a food voucher and beer token
per person.

Eden Springs Park hosts their last summer weekend of Miniature Steam Train Rides, Saturday and Sunday from Noon-5:00pm! Attendees can enjoy a ride on the 115 year old coal fired steam engine and afterwards are welcomed to take a walk around the historic park. 

 

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND

Happy Labor Day! The Welcome Center will be open from 11:00am-3:00pm.

The City of St. Joseph Municipal Band will host two special concerts on Labor Day! Catch these concerts at the John E.N. Howard Bandshell at 3:30 and 7:30pm.

This is the last Sunday of the 2019 season. 

The Livery hosts the monthly NTAA Open Stage Night from 6:30-10:00pm! This month's host will be Andrew Fisher of The Andrew Fisher Quartet. Sign up begins at 6:30pm and performances (10-minute time slots) at 7:00pm. Enjoy an evening of SWMI's premier talent!
