There’s a lot to explore this holiday weekend in Michigan's Great Southwest! Honor those who have served our country during the Memorial Day Parade, support local farmers with the start of the 2023 St. Joe Farmers Market season, listen to live music hosted at area businesses and so much more. There’s a little something for everyone. Read on for a full weekend guide!

 

FRIDAY, MAY 26

Honor veterans who have served this great country and remember those who have sacrificed their lives to protect our freedom at the annual Memorial Day Parade at 12:00p in downtown St. Joseph. Sponsored by Lest We Forget and BOSS Services. The parade will begin at the intersection of Lake Blvd. and Park St. Attendees will be able to watch as the parade travels down Lake Blvd. and finishes at the John E.N. Howard Bandshell. Immediately following the parade, everyone is invited to a short program at the bandshell. 

BOSS Services is providing you with a lunch alternative on Fridays from 11:00a-2:00p! Food trucks will rotate each week and all are welcome. All First Responders and HVAC Traders eat FREE!

Peat’s Cider Social hosts Cars & Cider, a car show from the Southwest Michigna Cars & Coffee Club, from 4:00p-6:00p. This event will feature over 75 classic cars and modern high-performance cars!

Head to the Benton Harbor Arts District for Arts in the Park hosted by the Benton Harbor Arts Association from 6:00p-9:00p! Enjoy local artist booths, live music, food trucks, kids activities and more. 

There is no shortage of live music throughout Southwest Michigan.

SATURDAY, MAY 27

The 2023 season of the St. Joe Farmers Market kicks off this Saturday! Market-goers will enjoy fresh finds at the weekly market, May 27-October 14, in Lake Bluff Park from 9:00a-2:00p. Vendors will offer a variety of products including homemade goods, locally grown produce, perennials and cut flowers, meats and cheeses, coffee and more!

market that features a mix of artisans and farmers! Join us weekly in
Court Place Plaza (across from Silver Harbor Brewing) from
4:00p-8:00p, May 31-August 30.

Lemon Creek Winery hosts a two day Wine and Art Festival, a celebration of art, music and wine! Attendees will enjoy live music and delectable wine as they shop local artisans. Hours include Saturday and Sunday from 12:00p-6:00p.

Don’t miss the 3rd Annual Berrien County Youth Fair Car Show from 9:00a-1:00p. Car enthusiasts will enjoy a variety of car classes: rat rods and custom cars, muscle and sports cars, restored and original cars, newer cars, older cars (older than 1997), SUV’s, trucks and vans. 

Enjoy delicious sweet and savory, handcrafted treats from Butter, a Bespoke Bakeshop at their pop-up at Chartreuse from 11:00a-6:00p. 

ARS Gallery hosts an Opening Reception from 4:00p-7:00p for their latest exhibit Art That’s Relative. This exhibit is a multi-generational exhibition features paintings, sculptures, bronze and mixed media.

SUNDAY, MAY 28

Stop by the Box Factory for the Arts to view their latest exhibition, the Michiana Annual Art Competition (MAAC) on display now through July 9. The MAAC is a local juried fine art exhibition featuring Southwest Michigan and Northern Indiana artists. 

Wanderlust Outfitters wraps up their Memorial Day Promotions this weekend. Shoppers can save up to 40% off of select styles and brands through May 29! 

Miniature Train Rides kick off their summer season at Eden Springs Park this weekend! Train rides are available Saturday and Sunday from 12:00p-5:00p, Memorial Day-Labor Day. Cost $3/person, kids 3 and under free.

Find your new favorite wine at the St. Joe Wine Shoppe! Every Sunday, they open three new bottles of wine, all different styles, during Wine Sample Sundays from 1:00p-5:00p!
