Field & Fire Experience | Deer Creek Hunt Club + Journeyman Distillery
Event published by Journeyman Distillery
2:30PM ET – FIELD Clay Shooting at Deer Creek Hunt Club
4:30PM ET – FIRE Whiskey & Wild Game Dinner at Journeyman Distillery
As autumn settles across the Midwest, Field & Fire invites guests to experience the rich traditions of the season through sport, smoke, whiskey, and wild game. Inspired by the Eastern European and German culinary heritage that shaped Oktoberfest celebrations for generations, this immersive Sunday experience pairs the open-air excitement of clay shooting at Deer Creek Hunt Club with a hearty family-style feast at Journeyman Distillery.
Chef Guy draws inspiration from his German and Czech heritage, celebrating the flavors and techniques that define fall across Central Europe: smoked meats, wild game, fresh breads, pickled vegetables, rich cheeses, and comforting seasonal dishes. These traditions helped shape Midwestern cuisine, making them the perfect backdrop for an evening that brings together sporting culture, hospitality, and exceptional food.
No shooting experience is required only an appetite for adventure and a taste for the exceptional. Whether you’re an experienced shooter or trying clay targets for the first time, Field & Fire offers a memorable way to celebrate the arrival of autumn with friends, family, and fellow enthusiasts.

DEER CREEK HUNT CLUB:
Deer Creek Hunt Club is a world class shooting facility that specializes in clay target shooting and upland bird hunting. They are available for corporate team building, company outings, bachelor/bachelorette parties and novice shooters. Deer Creek offers a variety of courses in Sporting Clays; for the beginner, intermediate, and experienced shooters. They like to compare this sport to golf, except you’ll be using a shotgun instead of clubs. Typically a course consists of twelve individual stations. All stations are fully automated and each station will throw two separate clay targets, either at the same time (true pair) or one after the other has been shot (report pair). Golf carts are available to travel around the sporting clay courses if desired.
Admission: Field & Fire Experience - $185 | Fire Experience - $90
