About the Lakeshore Rotary Club

A Legacy of Service Since 1974

For over 50 years, the Lakeshore Rotary Club has been a cornerstone of the Southwest Michigan community. Founded on the belief that we can achieve more together than we can alone, our club brings together neighbors, professionals, and retirees to solve problems and provide support where it is needed most. While our primary service area focuses on Stevensville, Baroda, and Bridgman, our reach extends across the region and reaches international heights through global grant projects.

What We Do: Hands-On Service and Strategic Fundraising

We balance our efforts between direct volunteerism and community investment. As a member, you have the opportunity to make an impact in two primary ways:

Community Service

We believe in getting our hands dirty to help our neighbors. Our members regularly dedicate their time to projects such as:

  • Packing and distributing meals for the Lancer Lunches program.

  • Organizing and staffing monthly food drives at the United Methodist Church.

  • Supporting environmental education and local park maintenance.

Meaningful Fundraising

Through our annual events and the Lakeshore Rotary Foundation, we raise the capital necessary to build lasting infrastructure for our towns. Past and current projects include:

  • Funding the pavilion and fireplace in Baroda.

  • Current major fundraising for the Community Gathering Place in the Village of Stevensville.

  • Managing an endowment that ensures the club can provide financial support to local causes for generations to come.

Fellowship and Membership

The heart of our club is our people. We pride ourselves on being a diverse group from all walks of life, with current member ages ranging from 30 to over 80. We believe that everyone has a unique skill set to offer, and anyone is welcome to join our mission of service.

Meetings and Expectations

We meet weekly to enjoy a meal, listen to engaging guest speakers, and plan our upcoming initiatives.

  • Lunch Meetings: Join us at Southshore Health and Racquet Club. You can bring your own lunch or enjoy a pre-ordered meal from Roosters.

  • Service Meetings: Once a month, we skip the traditional meeting and speaker to spend our time together packing lunches for our community programs.

  • Investment: Annual dues are $245. Throughout the year, members have additional opportunities to support the club’s mission through fundraisers, either through monetary donations or by volunteering their time.
