United Way of Southwest Michigan's Rake A Difference
Event published by United Way of Southwest Michigan
It’s time to grab your rakes, gather your crew, and make a difference!
Volunteer registration for Rake A Difference is now open!
On Thursday, November 12, hundreds of volunteers across Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties will come together to help local seniors prepare their yards and homes for winter.
Whether you’ve raked with us year after year or this will be your first time, now is the time to build your team and register.
A few hours can make a big difference.
For many older adults, fall yard work isn’t just difficult. Raking leaves and cleaning gutters can put seniors at risk for falls and serious injury. Hiring someone to do the work may not be financially possible, either.
That’s where you come in.
Rake A Difference connects volunteer teams with seniors age 60 and older who need a helping hand with raking, bagging leaves, and cleaning gutters. The service is provided completely free of charge to participating seniors.
Gather your coworkers. Bring together your family. Recruit your friends, classmates, church group, club, or organization.
Then spend a few hours together doing something that makes a real difference for a neighbor.
