Raised between the rugged hills of Tennessee and the long shadows of Michigan, Cruz Contreras has spent nearly three decades carving out his own path through American roots music. A songwriter, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and bandleader, he is best known as the founder of The Black Lillies and co-founder of Robinella & the CCstringband.

His songs have topped Billboard and Americana charts, earned Independent Music Awards, and helped establish him as one of the enduring voices in modern Americana. Along the way, Contreras has appeared on Conan, performed more than 40 times on the Grand Ole Opry stage, and received praise from Rolling Stone, NPR, American Songwriter, and Vanity Fair.

Over the course of his career, he has toured with Robert Earl Keen and the Turnpike Troubadours, collaborated with John Oates, and shared stages with artists including Tyler Childers, Mavis Staples, Old Crow Medicine Show, Elizabeth Cook, and The Travelin' McCourys. Cruz Contreras & The Black Lillies have appeared at Bonnaroo, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, MerleFest, Stagecoach, DelFest, Pickathon, Red Ants Pants, Cayamo, and many more festivals across North America.

Today, Contreras continues to push forward creatively. He is currently completing his second solo album while preparing new releases from The Black Lillies. His upcoming single, "Feels Like Home," launches a new chapter of music rooted in the landscapes, people, and experiences that have shaped a life spent on the road. His summer tour, Feels Like Home, will support the upcoming release, and kicks off on June 24th in Durango, Colorado.
